Your Story or Treatment
When a treatment is all you've
got, (or all they'll look at), it has got to be at its best. This consultation
on your written feature or TV story makes sure you're putting your best work
forward. Need to Pitch it? Get Pitch
Coaching from a pro or a Sell Sheet that knocks 'em

Your Treatment Consultation |
Have you just finished putting
your verbal pitch to paper and found it needs fleshing out to stand on its own as a
Treatment that inspires a bid? Or have you labored over an extensive Treatment so
long that it feels like a book and you need perspective? Or are you an executive who
heard a great pitch but need it in writing to sell to your boss? Blair Richwood's
confidential development can help:
- Notes on-the-Page
- Unlike vague feedback, Blair Richwood's
attention to the writing shows up on your page. Your Treatment is
returned with problems identified, solutions offered, trims made, structural fixes
suggested, cuts actualized, dialogue inserts suggested, and highlights showing what not
to change. The working draft is divided into beats, numbered for future reference
and structural checks. This attention gives you concrete tasks to accomplish in
order to take the material to the next level, rather than just a list of theories or buzz
words. Or if you want it revised and polished into a perfect pro format, complete
rewrites are also available in this hourly service.

- Development Memo
- You may order a Development Memo of concise
notes on these foremost issues:

Beat Notes |
- Like an in-house study of your Treatment, this
constructively explains what to do in the revision. Each point assesses the
strengths and weaknesses of the material.
- Questions are raised to illustrate how the
Treatment will be perceived by the targeted reader, and answers are suggested. A
Treatment that is meant to accompany a delivered pitch (a "leave behind") is
different from a Treatment intended to be forwarded to the big boss who didn't hear the
pitch at all.
- The Beat Notes section elaborates on specific
points as needed while indicating paragraph numbers for easier reference.
- Follow-up Story Meeting
- Book a telephone call to answer any questions
you (or your writer) may have. We will examine your options, raise additional ideas,
and discuss the next step in the process. This may be a conference call for
partners, often available after hours or weekends, all on an hourly basis.
-
- Further calls or in-person story meetings may
be scheduled as your progress continues.
