hit script, NATIONAL TREASURE, the week before it released.

In May, Blair was pleased to hold a development seminar for the talented
winners of the Hartley-Merrill International Screenwriting Prize,
after judging this fine contest for them again in April. Founded
by RKO Pictures chairman Ted Hartley and RKO vice-chair, actress Dina
Merrill in conjunction with the WGA, Robert Redford, Nikita Mikhalkov
and David Puttnam, among others, the contest is designed to help screenwriters
outside the United States learn how to refine their scripts "American-style."
First prize was $10 000 in cash for the winning writer.

(PRETTY WOMAN) at a roundtable in June to offer advice, tips and
insight for the winners to apply to their careers.

Nicholas Thurkettle's new Screenwriting course for Cal State LA

In September, Blair led a rousing night of development
at StoryBoard on the Kathryn Bigelow feature THE WEIGHT
OF WATER (adapted from Anita Shreve's book by Alice Arlen and

In August,
the Selling to Hollywood Screenwriters Conference hosted
Blair Richwood's popular workshop: "Taking The Meeting"
and her personal pitch coaching sessions -- both big hits.
The American Screenwriters Association (ASA) is an international
group for new screenwriters based in Ohio .
In May, Blair's
HOW TO "DO NOTES" WORKSHOP for New
CEs and Assistants on the Rise left everyone better informed,
more confidant, with smart tools and new connections for careers

In early Spring, Blair was proud to judge for the Hartley-Merrill
